Favorite Things No. 7
Next up is a recent discovery...wool! I have to admit that I had spent the first year and a half afraid of wool. It was intimidating to me! I remember going to my Cloth Diaper 101 class in my pregnancy and hearing about it. Sure, the covers were soft and absolute adorable, but I just couldn't get over the "you don't have to wash it after use" thing. I'm not a big science fan, I struggled with every science course I ever took, so the fact that urine and wool worked some magical chemistry together was beyond my scope of understanding. Then, one day, some friends were talking and I decided to give it a shot. Once again, I felt I couldn't have a cloth diaper blog and not try just about everything!

The care isn't that bad either! The cover was easy to prep and extra easy to take care of. The gross factor of not washing after every use wears off when you realize the diaper really smells clean once it's dry! I do forget to use my wool cover sometimes because it's laying in the bathroom and not at the changing table. I'm also paranoid my curious toddler is going to get a hold of it and throw it in the diaper pail without my knowledge. If my wool cover was to get washed with my other diapers it would be no good. The hot water would shrink the cover and make an adorable (and very expensive) doll diaper.
