About Melanie
I am a Christian wife and homeschooling mother of 6.  I am a consultant for Scentsy Fragrance.  I enjoy teaching sign language and drama in our local homeschool co-op.

How long have you been cloth diapering?
I have only been CD'ing for maybe 1 month!  I can't believe it took me 6 kids to get here!  Makes me sick thinking about all the money we could have saved, not to mention all those diapers trashing the landfills!

Why did you choose to cloth diaper?
I heard some friends talking about them, and thought I would try it.

What diapers are in your stash?
All I have was handed down to me, except 2 Charlie Banana OS Pockets I just had to buy!  I am just getting started and will need to buy more as my baby is getting growing out of the newbies.  I have 24 prefolds, 6 small Bummi covers, 2 snappis, 10 small Fuzzi Bunz pockets, and 1 small Thirsties pocket.

Favorite diaper in your stash?
Butterfly OS Charlie Banana, right now.  Can't wait to try more brands/styles!

Biggest cloth diapering challenge?
Since I am just getting started, I do not have a great system for keeping dirties.  I am just using grocery bags.  I need to get a pail and a couple of wetbags.  I am also cloth wiping and I made my own (they're blue) but I have to keep them separate because otherwise I get blue lint on the diapers. So, I'll need to make more with white material.  Another thing, I have to wash daily, so I would like to grow my stash.

Favorite thing about cloth diapering?
It's so weird how right away it has become almost an obsession!  I never expected that!  I love that they must be so much more comfy for my baby.  I love the way they look, fit, no more rashes, no more leaks and blowouts!  I love that I never have to worry about whether we will run out of diapers.  Our washer was broken for a week and it was no problem to wash them in the sink.

Least favorite thing about cloth diapering?
Right now, my least favorite thing is my dirty stash routine with the grocery bags.  I really need to get a pail, and wet bags!

Favorite piece of parenting or cloth diaper advice?
I would definitely recommend the one size diapers for cost effectiveness.
