Are you up for a challenge...old school style?

DDLbutton

Have you heard about the Flats Challenge? Dirty Diaper Laundry is hosting the 2nd Annual Flats and Handwashing Challenge! It's ridiculous how excited I am about cloth diapering my son in such an old school way and not just that, but hand washing all my diapers too! Do I sound crazy?

You can check our Dirty Diaper Laundry's breakdown of the rules!  I encourage you to join me May 21-27! If you consider yourself a true, cloth diaper addict, how could you not see this as fun!? :)

What I have to use...
I already have a package of Swaddlebees flats. I bought them a month or two ago to see what it was like to use them. This was well before I knew about the flats challenge. I love them! I have 6 diaper covers, 5 Flips, and a Palm Tree. I will use my 2 Snappis and my Knickernappies diaper sprayer.

What I need to buy...
I plan to buy a dozen or so more flats, some Hemp Babies flats, and one or two more Snappis (maybe).

What I need to make...
Not only do you have to use the flat diapers, but you also have to hand wash everything! I plan to have Chas make me a Camp Style Washer.  My intent is to wash my diapers during Noah's morning nap time everyday so they can hang dry outside during the day. I probably could do every other day, but I'm a little intimidated and I don't want the laundry to pile up!

My Plan...
In the rules, it states you can use one nighttime diaper of your choice, but I'd really like to try and do it with flats. I plan to purchase the Hemp Babies flats and layer them in the diaper cover with some regular flats. I'm praying for no leaks since my Flip organics have proven to be so bulletproof at night for me.

I really encourage you to check out the challenge and join me! There's a great Facebook group for those who participate. Everyone is really helpful! There are wonderful videos on You Tube for how to fold flat diapers and you can even use them stuffed inside your pockets!
